Awareness

There are many examples from our own fears to our own lack of knowledge and understanding. I had one occasion where I actually heard a leader tell me that a certain worshiper would not be allowed to pursue a creative ministry (even on their own time in their own closet) because the person had to focus on taking care of others only, meaning cook and clean. That the worshiper had no time for their own endeavors. At that moment I could not believe my ears. This leader actually hailed "Martha" and obliterated "Mary" and in doing so actually became THE obstacle between that worshiper and God. It was up to the worshiper to decide if they were to grow or die spiritually. Not an easy trial. I do not know the outcome, but my prayer is that the worshiper picked up their cross and followed Christ first and that the leader was able to let go of their own pleasures.

At Miriam's Way, we believe in God's gift of free will. We believe that every individual will have to answer to God alone. We believe that every person has a God given right to pursue their relationship with God freely.

There are countless stories from the urban child who decides to give creative worship a try, but because of problems at home and a lack of finances for such things they pursue destructive behavior instead. Or the church that is so poor yet keeps on giving, deserves to have their needs and desires met. Or individuals who live under extreme oppression to have the tools and materials they could not obtain in their part of the world. Miriam's Way wants to be part of the solution and we hope that you are too!
